Re: Jesse Who?
Our full backs are also integral to how we play, Coufal of Cresswell get injured we are a severely weakened team.

But then you can say that all round the park.

Look at our bench last night, fuck all on it.

There are 38 league games, FA cup, League cup and Europa league - we need 4 or 5.

CB, CF, number 10, LB and holding midfield (let Coventry go on loan).

We would have a proper chance to compete in the league and give at least one cup competition a go then.

As soon as we get one or 2 injuries, a bit of fatigue then we will be struggling - plus we need to be able to change a game from the bench. We have no plan B.

This is a real opportunity for us and I think anything less than 3 signings before the deadline shuts is fucking disgraceful.

Re: Jesse Who?
I should add, I probably think that because I rate Diop a bit higher than many of our fans.

I think Diop's OK and could get better, again, with more game time. His form slumped after a good first season, no doubt. But I think there's a decent player in there - and Moyes is probably the right manager to bring that out.

Re: Jesse Who?
I'm kinda' OK with the CBs we have: Oggy, Dawson, Diop, Alves and the kid Baptiste.

Would quite like to see Baptiste in some 'lesser' games this season (maybe some early Euro matches). He looks talented, but will need game time. My worry if we sign another established CB is that Baptiste will get shoved further down the pecking order and, like many before him, we might not see much of him before he goes looking for games and clubs elsewhere.

Re: Jesse Who?
Priority should be back up striker, CB then Jessi.

Re: Jesse Who?
I agree with that Rossal, that's probably why Moyes is trying to bring in a first choice cb

Rossal 12:09 Tue Aug 24
Re: Jesse Who?
Calm down mate youve just made half of that up

I agree ST is obviously the priority

But then i think bolstering the 3 behind the striker is more important than bringing in a 4th or even 5th CB

ST Winger/CAM CM CB would be my order

Re: Jesse Who?
We only have 3 wingers, Rossal?

We only have one striker, an injury prone one who wants to fuck off and play for Jamaica and then put himself in to quarantine at that.

Anyone who thinks the priority isn't a striker is MAD.

fraser 11:33 Tue Aug 24
Re: Jesse Who?
Yet at CB we need an upgrade on Dawson/Diop

Rossal 11:31 Tue Aug 24
Re: Jesse Who?
Haha blimey ok....

fraser 11:28 Tue Aug 24
Re: Jesse Who?
We don't play with wingers for a start

We have Bowen, Benrahma, Fornals, Yarmalenko, Masuako, Lanzini, Lingard or another, even Antonio who can all play wide/am roles.

Rossal 11:24 Tue Aug 24
Re: Jesse Who?
why dont we need a winger?

We only have 3, that isnt enough with Europe aswell....and thats including a ropey Yarmolenko

fraser 11:03 Tue Aug 24
Re: Jesse Who?
Glad Moyes agrees with most that CB is a priority.

One thing we don't need is a winger. Agree SBBB no striker yet is a joke.

southbankbornnbred 11:00 Tue Aug 24
Re: Jesse Who?
I'd still take him back at a pinch. He was excellent for us and would be again, I'm sure.

But more than that, we need a second striker in the squad. Antonio is on fire, but we have become heavily reliant on him and, as Moyes pointed out last night, he won't play every game.

We still have absolutely nobody of any note to cover Antonio - which at this stage is shocking from our board.

Rossal 10:56 Tue Aug 24
Re: Jesse Who?
With Diop and possobly Ajese or Baptiste in CB id rather have Lingard come in as then we have 4 top players for the 3 positions behind Antonio

Id then want a Striker on a perm and a winger and CM on loan like Barkley and Lookman

We just need bodies, we're desperate for them

fraser 10:55 Tue Aug 24
Re: Jesse Who?
Yeah I noticed that, seemed very friendly between them.

Re: Jesse Who?
Rossal - I wouldn't have gone for Gray, even though he was cheap, as we have enough players in his mould now and wouldn't take him over Lingard, but agree on King, on a free and at 28 feel he would have been good back up and Moyes may have improved him..

I noticed last night when Daka was waiting to come on he made a point of getting Moyes' attention, so reckon we did show some interest in him and probably made contact.

Re: Jesse Who?
I don’t see Lombard in January as viable
He will be on a Bosman by then, just four months and he can sign and Utd will get fuck all
If he wants to come, it’s going to be now or never

fraser 10:42 Tue Aug 24
Re: Jesse Who?
Rossal I didn't say I didn't want him back, just not at the expense of positions where the need is greater.

In an ideal works we'd sign a lb, cb, cm, Lingard and a striker.. But it ain't going to happen

Rossal 10:39 Tue Aug 24
Re: Jesse Who?
Fraser

I wanted Josh King in Jan, £5M for him in our position was a no brainer. Surprised we wasnt in for him on a free in the summer.

Gray the winger for £1.5M we should have been all over too.

Not wanting Lingard back after his cameo last season is bonkers

goose 10:35 Tue Aug 24
Re: Jesse Who?
Let’s not get carried away here.

We’re still one or two injuries away from Yarmolenko or Noble or Diop being relied upon.

Lingard, a striker and a centre back is still the minimum.

Lee Trundle 10:34 Tue Aug 24
Re: Jesse Who?
We need a CB, LB, AM, ST.

There's no priority to any of them. We need them all.
